Is Jack Nicholson playing in the next superman movie

Jack Nicholson playing Lex Luthor in the next Superman movie. Maybe he'll be daddy Warbucks in a remark of Annie. Or perhaps he is going to the same hairstylist as Britney Spears. As host Ellen DeGeners walked onto the stage at the begining of Sunday Oscar, the camera found its way to an applauding Nicholson who appeared wearing his signature sunglasses and sporting a very non-signature shaved head.

Turns out the extreme hair cut was just devotion to craft. Nicholson and co-star Morgan Freeman are filming director Rod Reiner;s film, the Bucket list, a buddy comedy and drama about two terminally ill men who flee a cancer ward to complet a list of things they want to do before they die. It is scheduled for release in November.

Silver Surfer trailer news

USA Today seems to have the scoop on just about everything this week. Great idea Hollywood, break all your movie news exclusively to a magazine read mostly by stock traders and the elderly. You’d be foolish to hand any of it over to… oh say a mildly successful movie site.

The latest big break they’ve gotten is the first pic anywhere of the new character being added into the next Fantastic Four movie. FF2 is being called Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and the picture in question is of the Surfer himself.

There’s little explanation with the image, but it looks like concept art and not an actual image of what we’ll see in the movie to me. I like it, but turning this into a CGI render that will look realistic in a real-world setting is going to be incredibly challenging.

We may get out first indication of our Surfer looks in context this weekend, since the first ever Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer trailer is set to debut this weekend in front of Night at the Museum. Look for it to appear on the internet shortly thereafter. We’ll have it for you when it does.

The long awaited biopic of late comedian Richard Pryor is back on after several script rewrites delayed production. Reports MTV Movie news.

According to Mike Epps, the actor/comedian set to star as Pryor in the untitled biopic says a dispute between Pryor's first and second wives over his assets caused preproduction of the film to come to a standstill.

Said Epps to MTV Movie News: "It just didn't fly right [with me]," he said. "And I'm glad it didn't. Whenever you want to do a story about someone and don't want to involve their kids, that ain't right. I don't care how good the script was, how true to [life] it was, if you gonna do a movie about someone and the kids were there, you got to make mention of them and let them participate. 'Cause if you don't, that's going too much against the grain."

The Pryor film is scheduled to begin filming sometime next year, but in the meantime Epps will join the cast of "Resident Evil" for the third installment of the series and star in a reality-based gambling film called "The Grand."

Ice Cube has allegedly been in talks with Epps for a possible role in the remake of "Welcome Back, Kotter." Reports MTV Movie News.

MTV reports that Epps is confident the newest script is an accurate portrayal of Pryor's life, and largely based on a memoir written by Pryor's daughter Rain. The new script is coming from the perspective and eyes of Pryor's daughters, Rain and Elizabeth.

Variety reported that writer, director and actress Kasi Lemmons, currently posting "Talk to Me" has now signed on to direct the project. Kasi played fellow FBI in training Ardelia with Jodie Foster as Clarice in 'Silence of the Lambs."

A Rare Condition Leads to a New Definition of Gender Bending

When you think about movie news, what do you think of first? Which aspects of movie news are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Androgyny rules in “Zerophilia,” Martin Curland’s audacious feature about a fictional chromosomal abnormality that wreaks havoc with one’s genitals. When the virginal Luke (Taylor Handley) is energetically deflowered by a mysterious Englishwoman he encounters while camping, the incident triggers a dormant condition known as zerophilia, which causes sufferers — if that’s the word — to spontaneously change their sex. Thereafter, every orgasm comes with a price, and it’s not one you can charge to your credit card.

A novel teenage comedy with an astute understanding of adolescent sexual confusion and the nebulous nature of desire, “Zerophilia” suggests an elastic view of gender that’s alternately gleeful and terrifying. As Luke sprouts breasts during a romantic dinner with a date (Rebecca Mozo), then awakes after a night of passion to discover he has morphed into a curvaceous female (Marieh Delfino), the movie balances nightmare and fantasy with cool agility. Helped by assured performances from his mostly young cast — particularly Dustin Seavey and Alison Folland as Luke’s closest friends — Mr. Curland fashions his bizarre material into a surprisingly subtle exploration of identity and anxiety.

If your movie news facts are out-of-date, how will that affect your actions and decisions? Make certain you don't let important movie news information slip by you.

Slow to get going, but worth the wait, “Zerophilia” is ultimately less about sex than about the rewards of friendship. “Being a woman doesn’t make you any less of a man,” says one of Luke’s friends, encouragingly. It’s a line Dietrich would have been thrilled to utter.

Written and directed by Martin Curland; director of photography, Graham Futerfas; edited by John Randle; music by Kevin McDaniels; production designer, Kenn Coplan; produced by Jay Whitney Brown, Mr. Curland, Alan Grossbard, Gregory J. Lanesey and Matt Radecki; released by Microangelo Entertainment. At the Village East, Second Avenue at 12th Street, East Village. Running time: 90 minutes. This film is not rated.

Now you can be a confident expert on movie news. OK, maybe not an expert. But you should have something to bring to the table next time you join a discussion on movie news.
